How to Organize Your Kitchen

The kitchen is one of the busiest places in the house and with that, it can also be prone to clutter. In fact, the many storage places in the house are allocated much in the kitchen area. If you are bothered by clutter in the kitchen and you are thinking of remodeling or reorganizing this part of the house, you may want to learn a few tips on how to organize your kitchen and make it less messy and stress-free for your cooking.

Here is a simple guide on how to organize your kitchen.

1. Set a specific work areas or work zones in your kitchen. You may want to set an area for food preparation, an area for storage, a part of the kitchen for dining and yet another part for the cleaning up. By setting these work zones, you will also be guided on where to put what.

2. Put those frequently used items in accessible places. Pots and pans that are frequently used should be placed in storage places where you can easily access it. For sure, you would not want to dig into a lot of things before finally getting the things you use everyday. This is in fact one easy way to make clutter in your kitchen.

3. Invest on more storage. Storing everything on cabinets and drawers is one good way to make your kitchen spic-and-span. It is often hard to clean a kitchen which has a lot of things in the counter. Invest on canisters and stackable storage containers to make the most out of your storage space.

4. Group and label. Another way on how to organize your kitchen is to group things in the kitchen. Group canned goods separate from boxes and spices. If you are using small storage containers for spices and for other ingredients, you may also want to label them to make it more organized. However, if you do not have that much time for labeling, you can also choose transparent storage containers and boxes where you can easily see the contents you have stored.

5. Use the back of the closet doors for added storage space. Yes, if you are running out space, you can also put small wooden shelves at the back of the closet doors for spices and other small things you need to store.

6. Opt for pull-out table or area to help you extend your food preparation area. An additional pull-out working area can be a great idea especially if you have limited kitchen space.

7. Create a storage area for hard to store items in the kitchen. Some things in the kitchen such as baking pans or kitchen appliances such as blenders and food processors, thus invest on storage that allow you to store these items. Design some cabinets where you can store these items and get them off your countertop.
