KITCHEN TRENDS 2022
Below, we look at the biggest trends and new kitchen ideas and pictures of kitchens to inspire your next kitchen remodel.

A tiled kitchen backsplash is nothing new, but there will be a shift from a matte finish to gloss. A glazed tile is not only easy to clean – it also reflects light around the room, with an effective result regardless of color.
Interior designer Natalia Miyar has these rich green kitchen tiles handmade in Florence. “In combination with the rustic work surfaces in wood and marble, they create a really beautiful contrast with the earthy colors, while at the same time adding different layers of texture to the space,” she explains. You do not need to use a saturated shade to enjoy full effect.
For a more subdued look, choose glazed white tiles, which will surely get the most out of the natural light. Zelliges will also remain a popular choice. Handmade in Morocco, these distinctive glazed clay tiles, with their irregular surface and varying tones, give structure and craftsmanship character to a schedule.
MESH CABINETRY

Bespoke kitchen specialist Davonport has added a burnished wire mesh cupboard door to its design portfolio. Teamed with diamond-cut brass handles, the look makes for a sophisticated twist on industrial style.
USING MATERIALS IN SURPRISING WAYS

There is something liberating about having a kitchen that does not feel “off the shelf”. Although some elements such as cabinets and appliances need to be standardized, be sure to add character with practical elements from elsewhere.
This sink area has a rustic shelf to display ceramics and a narrow geometric back made of brass sits behind, creating an unusual vignette and wall decor for the kitchen.
