Kitchen window decoration

We have already covered how to create a magnificent floral view from your kitchen garden with a planting box, trellis and vines. Here is another very attractive and even easier way to create a visually attractive view from the inside.

We have all seen or even in our patios a decorative and very functionally pergola patio. Decorative for the many patterns we can consider, and functional from the much needed shadow they provide. As we will also see, miniature size spars are often designed and mounted directly over one or more windows in a home or a garage.

With that in mind, why not mount a mini-pergola over your kitchen window to show hanging baskets on both sides? With narrow toplet separated to provide sunlight, you can still get filtered light through the upper slanted part of the window. Note: You never want to mount hanging baskets over the top of the window for a reason. Every time you water, the dirty runoff will cascade down over your window, keep it from everyone really clean.

The design is simple because the weight of the hanging baskets that it will carry is minimal, and you will not place anything on top of the pergola. Traditional patio pergolas is supported with 4in. X 4in. or greater posts. Our mini-pergola will not require this, and proportional to its smaller size, will use individually less wood-causing members than our standard patio pergola.

Here are the supplies you need:

2 Cross-hanging Corbel Stilmästten: These must be flattened on two sides for mounting on the surface of the house just outside both sides of the garden window and to secure the wooden space members on top. Be sure to use the outer mounts, or spray the interior brackets you want to use with a weatherproof finish. They should also have two screw holes on each flat surface. Two for mounting the parentheses on the surface of the housing and two to mount the mini pergola on top of the parentheses.

Mounting hardware for the brackets suitable for the surface of your house (eg concrete anchors for stucco surfaces)

Two smaller round or square hanging baskets

Träslister proportional in size to the dimensions of the garden window: Use your own assessment, but narrower ties than you see on larger Pergolas works better and seems more pleasing to the eye.

Wooden screws

Step 1: Measure the width of your garden window. Then measure the diameter of your round hanging basket, or square length of your square basket, which you decide to use. The goal here is to leave enough clearance for basket swing in the event of stronger than normal wind conditions. Your best bet is to take the measurements of your hanging basket and add about 8 inches of clearance from the edge of the basket to the edge of the garden window to allow wind dube. Select a location directly above the center of the basket on the house surface where you mount the parentheses. It should be in a height that enables clearance of mini pergola above the window’s top frame. Because Mini Pergola needs to be level with the top of the window, make sure your points to mount the brackets insure it. One suggestion is to get someone to help you keep a 2in x 4in. or other long straight wood connecting the points on each side. Use a level to make sure everything is the level before moving on with the next step.

Step 2: Install your pergola. No matter what size wooden element you decide to use, you need to drill two of them at the point where they will be secured to the top of the crustangular brackets. They can extend beyond the width of the two parentheses, but make sure they are centered before they select your place for drilling in the wood. Before installing your sprout for Pergola, it can be a good idea to seal, paint or stain the wood to protect it from the elements. You can attach your two wooden boards to the top of the brackets using the machine screws with slices and nuts.
